Every once in a while, I grab my camera, hit the streets, and start searching. Not for the obvious. Not for the perfectly curated, Instagram-ready moments. But for people who stand out—not just in how they dress, but in how they carry themselves.

We live in a very mainstream world. Trends dominate everything. Walk through any city, and you’ll see different versions of the same thing. The same sneakers. The same oversized jackets. The same vintage aesthetic, repackaged and repeated. Individuality often feels like it’s been carefully pre-approved by algorithms, shaped by what’s currently “in.”
But once in a while, someone stops you in your tracks.
I’m not talking about the ones who dress to impress or shock. Anyone can throw on an eccentric outfit. What I look for is different: people whose attitude and style align. The ones where self-expression isn’t just an aesthetic choice but a reflection of who they are.
True individuality isn’t just about standing out visually—it’s in the way someone moves, interacts, and takes up space. It’s the difference between someone wearing an identity and someone being it.
That’s what I try to capture. Not just an image, but an identity.
This idea ties back to something I wrote earlier in It’s not about the people, It’s about yourself. We often project onto others—whether admiration, judgment, or assumptions—without really seeing them. And sometimes, the people who truly stand out aren’t the ones shouting for attention, but the ones who are just unapologetically themselves.
So next time you walk through a city, look closer. Beyond the fashion, beyond the statement outfits. Who really owns their identity? Who isn’t just wearing something different but actually being different?
Those are the stories worth capturing.
This is an ongoing series at my own pace
